10 A Plan of Evaluative Lesson / Materials

Introduction

The T greets the S and asks to sit down. The T briefly introduces the plan of the lesson.
The S greet the T and take their seats. Listen to the plan of the lesson.
To create a pleasant and friendly atmosphere. To catch the Ss’ attention.

The T who is absent. The T marks those who are not present. After that the T goes round the class and takes the letters the S had to write at home.
The S say who is absent today. After that the S give in their formal letters.
To check how the S worked at home.

The T asks to open their books at pg 32. She asks to look at ex 1. The T explains that they have to join into pairs and discuss all the 3 questions. The T asks to work on their on for several minutes. After a while the T asks to share their answers.
The S  open their books. They start listening to the T. They look at ex 1 and join into pairs in order to do the task. They start discussing the questions. After a while the S share their answers with the rest of the class.
To develop speaking skills. To encourage the S to work together. To encourage the S to use English.

The T introduces the next task. The S have to listen to te recording and to do te Multiple Choice task. Before the T plays the recording, she asks to look through the questions and translate  some words which might be unknown. After  that the T plays the recording. Then checks the answers.
The S look at ex 2. Then they look through the questions and asnwers, too. They translate some words that might be unknown. The S listen to the recording and match their and answers. After that they read theirs answers  and correct the mistakes in case they have some.
To develop listening skills.

The T asks to look at ex 3. Here the S have to answer the questions. The T gives several minutes for the S to think and then listens to their answers.
The S look at ex 3. They may discuss the questions in pairs or just think about the possible answers separately. After a while they share their answers.
To develop critical thinking. To develop speaking skills.

(Use of English)

The T introduces the task 4. The T explains that the S have to complete the text with an appropriate word in each gap. They are asked to work individually. After a while the T asks one of the S to start reading the completed text. After each paragraph the T asks to stop and look through the vocabulary. The T translates the words together with the S.
The  S look at ex 4. They follow what the T is saying. They start completing the text with an appropriate word in each gap. After that one of the S start reading the text. The S look through the unknown vocabulary and translate the words together with the T.
To recall the usage of relative pronouns.

Speaking

The T presents the last exercise. It is speaking activity. The T asks to work in pairs again. She asks to work in pairs again. She asks the S to imagine that they left school ten years ago and that they now  are organizing a reunion for the members of their class. The T asks to discuss all the 4 points that are given in the exercise. After a while the T asks to share the ideas with the rest of the class.
The S join into pairs and start discussing all the four points. They try to find a compromise and agree on the common answer. After some time they share their ideas with the rest of the class and the T.
To develop speaking skills. To encourage the S to work in pairs.

The T reminds the S that they have to get ready for the quiz which is going to take place on Tuesday. Finally, the T asks what they have done today. Lastly, the T says goodbye to the S.
The S write down that they have to get ready for the quiz. They answer the T’s questions. Finally, they say goodbye to the T.
