Introduction

1-2 min
The T greets the S and asks to sit down. The T briefly introduces the plan of the lesson.
The S greet the T and take their seats. Listen to the plan of the lesson.
To create a pleasant and friendly atmosphere. To catch the Ss’ attention.

Checking HW

10 min
The T asks to open their workbooks. The T goes round the class and checks whether all the S did their HW. The T marks those who did not do their HW. After that the T asks to read in turns. Also the T asks about some words which might be unknown.
The S open their workbooks and show their HW. The S start checking by reading in turns. Translate the words which are asked by the T.
To check the Ss’ understanding. To check how the S worked at home.

The T asks to open their books at pg. 30. The T asks the S what they remember from the last lesson.
The S open their Student Books. The S try to recall something from the last lesson on a job interview.
To check if the S remember something from the previuos lesson.

Practice

5-7 min
The T asks to look at ex. 5. The T asks to repeat the answers because the last time they were not able to check it. The T asks to read the correct order of the questions. After that the T asks to recall as many answers as they can.
The S concentrate on ex. 5. They read the answers. Try to recall the information from the recording ( the answers to the questions).
To check the Ss’ understanding. To check whether the S can recall the information from the recording.

Pronunciation activit

5 min
The T asks to have a look at ex. 6. The T explains that the S have to concentrate on the SPEAKING TIP  which is given in the box and after that to listen to the recording very carefully. Then the T asks to copy the intonation and repeat the given words with the appropriate intonation: REALLY?; RIGHT.; THAT’S GREAT!; I SEE.; THAT’S INTERESTING. (* The T plays the recording pausing after each expression for the S to repeat the intonation).
(*The T encourages the S to exaggerate the intonations in order to help them to feel less self-consciuos).
The S concentrate on ex. 6. The S go through the SPEAKING TIP together with the T. They listen to the recording very carefully and try to repeat the intonation as well as they  can.
(*The S try to exaggerate the intonation).

10 min
The T introduces the following tasks (ex. 7/8). The T asks the S to prepare at least 7/8 questions for job interview. The T explains that they have to plan the interview for one of the jobs from the previuos exercises. The T encourages to use questions and work-related vocabulary from the previuos lessons and exercises.
The S listen carefully to what the T is explaining about the following tasks. They join into pairs and start working. They invent 7/8 questions for their interview. The S use work-related vocabulary and questions from the other exercises.
To use the questions and answers for a job interview in practice. To use the new vocabulary ( work-related) in practice.

Speaking activity

7 min
The T choose several pairs to act out their interviews. After that she asks other part of the class to vote on whether the applicant gets the job (ex.9). Before the S start acting their interviews, the T reminds them about the intonation in order to sound more interesting and interested.
The S listen to what the T is explaining. They start acting their interviews. The other part of the S vote on whether the interviewee gets the job.
To use the questions, answers and the new words in practice. To develop speaking skills.

The T sets HW for the next time. The T asks to write it down and not to forget to do it.
The S write down their homework for the next time.

The T asks what they have learnt today. She asks what they can do now. Finally, says goodbye to the S and wishes to have a good weekend.
